We have a used 1998 Caterpillar 953C Crawler Loader up for sale. The machine is powered by a Caterpillar 6-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The engine starts easy and runs out strong, however there is excessive fuel smoking when running it. The machine has sat for 6-8 years before we bought it. We could not get it to run at first so we had the injection pump rebuilt. We installed it and we have a ton of fuel smoke now. I am unsure how to adjust and do not have the proper tools to do so. You are buying it this way.  The previous owner told me it ran and operated well when parked.  The transmission is hydrostatic and it works great. The machine steers fine. The loader bucket linkage is a little stiff, I oiled it, it needs to be worked.
